Antenna Solutions They should be renamed the supper antenna. They cover 80 through 6 meters with a 3:1 tuner and if used with a wide range tuner is capable of 160 meters at reduced efficiency. The revolutionary technology used in this propriety matching network, has made it possible for Antenna Solutions to achieve this breakthrough. The windom comes 100% assembled and ready to install. The matching unit is weather tight. The unit comes with #14 AWG wire or as an option you can order the heavy duty ruggedized version with upgraded hardware and #12 AWG wire. Only 92 feet long, fits most city lots and works

Maximum Power 1500 Watts PEP SSB Good Ole' Shorty Half the size of a G5RV and twice the Antenna Half the size of a G5RV and twice the Antenna Good ole’ Shorty 1500 Watts pep 10 HF bands Comparison between the G5RV and Good ole’ Shorty Length: G5RV- 102 Feet Good ole’ Shorty -52 Feet SWR: G5RV- 1:18 to 17:1 Good ole’ Shorty -1:1 to 2.6:1 Requires wide band tuner Any built in tuner works Band Coverage: G5RV 80, 40, 20, 15, 12 = 5 Bands Good Ole’ Shorty 80,60,40,30,20,17,15,12,10,6 = 10 Bands G5RV has a few other caveats we should consider. First, it often uses twin lead or ladder line directly connected to coax cable. The problem is there is no proper transition to balanced feed from unbalanced feed. Secondly and far greater, is the fact that this connection is prone to easy failure. Good ole’ Shorty has none of these problems. It has a simple connection to coaxial cable. This is all that is needed. There is no weak or flimsy solider joints to ever break !!!! G5RV Requires a wide range tuner that is just another expense to add to a mediocre antenna. Good Ole, Shorty will work very well with a 3:1 tuner. C5RV’s are affected by rain, ice and near by obstacles. Good Ole, Shorty works great in all weather. The Winner is Good Ole, Shorty every time. That is about as short as you’re going to get a dipole that covers 80 to the lower end of 6 meters. While Good ole’ Shorty may be small in size he definitely does not lack in character. He offers a full 1500 watt pep rating and has a breakdown voltage rating well in excess of 10 thousand volts. Installation of the dipole is as simple as connecting the coax from your tuner or radio*, and hanging the dipole in either a flat top or inverted V fashion. Your dipole comes equipped with all the wire and insulators and hardware installed. You simply add your support rope, coax, hang it and enjoy. * covers 3.5 to 52 MHz * Requires a 3:1 tuner standard in most radios built today. Good Ole’ Shorty does not use any lousy trap’s, loading coils, resistors or any other sort of silly components. What makes Shorty work is the proprietary Balun design that Antenna Solutions has perfected and manufactured. The unique method in which the balun has been designed has made a revolutionary discovery in antenna manufacturing. I just installed the 80 meter windom in place of a 135' center fed dipole. Already, I can see an improvement on audio and signal strength. The product is high quality contruction and the price is reasonable. Thanks for a good USA product.
